See our wide range of educational activities for families and learners of all ages. Each art activity was designed with a focus on building STEAM skills to highlight the connections between art and STEM. All activities use basic craft materials to create an art piece that is inspired by a work in the museum's collection.

We welcome faculty from all disciplines to make the museum a part of your classroom. Browse our museum collection online or contact Alison Cloet, education & outreach associate, to discuss scheduling a tour that is designed around your curricular and learning objectives. Additionally, we offer specialized viewings of artwork not currently exhibited for class visits on a scheduled basis.

The Great Plains Art Museum welcomes school group tours for K-12 classes or organizations. During the tour, students will learn about the people, cultures, and environments of the Great Plains and engage in interactive discussions about artwork that sparks their imaginations and sharpens observation and critical thinking skills. Artist-in-Residence program
Our biggest education opportunities of the year is our annual Elizabeth Rubendall Artist-in-Residence program. During the residency, the artist interacts with the public, leads educational programs and tours, and creates a work of art for the museum’s permanent collection.
